I just read a comment that stated: "the only extra revenue coming in from this bill, would be from the fines and court cost for the extra amount of DUIs" and I just can't stop laughing about how ignorant this person is. People are going to drink when they want to drink, regardless. The sernio right now is that people go to the bar, get wasted, and drive home. How is this, compared to people going to the package store, getting what they want and going HOME, to drink, AT HOME, going to increase the amount of DUI's given? If anything, the amount of DUI's will decrease seeing as you don't need to drink at a bar on Sunday! You can do it at home, and pass out on the couch ratehr than at the wheel.

odd that in a capitalist nation we see government getting out of the market (regulation) and allowing capitalism to go less bridled... and the capitalists are saying (or spec. those who oppose the redux in regulation) no, keep the regulation(s)... an odd paradox if you ask me...

Not allowing alcohol sales on Sunday is just an inconvenience. The state IS losing out on revenue. I work a 9 to 5 job, and very often, I don't have a chance to get to the liquor store until the weekend. It just so happens that about 75% of the time, I purchase beer on a Sunday. Of course, that's my revenue leaving the state and going straight into MA's pocket. And WHY does giving vendors the OPTION to sell alcohol on Sunday mean the small guy is going to go out of business? Furthermore, allowing sales is not the same as encouraging drinking. The question posed, for the record, was "Do you support this legislation?" - not "What are your general feelings about drinking, and how vehemently opposed are you?"

O.K. we're broke, just like every other state. Any extra revenue would be helpful. Furthermore, open up everything else too. I would like to go hunting on Sunday. All the hunters going to Rhode Island buying gas and breakfast could be spent here. Besides, just because I want to buy a beer or go hunting on Sunday doesn't mean you can't go to church. Where's the separation of church and state?!!

I believe the law should be revised to fit to modern times. I mean we can always drive to our neighboring state to buy liquor on Sundays. Why should other states profit from CT residents.

Leave the law as it is. Clearly greed has entered in and taken up a firm root in this country! Now let me say this, there is nothing wrong with drinking as long as you don't over indulge, however, NOT ALL PEOPLE WILL BE RESPOSIBLE THE "RESPONSIBLE DRINKER" Plus It's not like the liquor stores are going bankrupt behind not being able to sell alcohol on Sunday. The last thing we need is more intoxication, don't conform, because ppl are crying about something that doesn't even have a positive affect on our brain cells. Why would you give consent for ppl to overwork their kidneys?... People" We want to keep drinking so sell us booze!! We don't want a day to rest from our hangovers, Let us die from alcohol poison!" Governor "Sure I have no problem with the possible deaths this may cause, because stores need to make more profit, at the expense of another's life. So be it" I am seriously regret voting for you Dan Malloy.

Sure, give those who drive intoxicated easier access to liquor, so that they can go out and kill more people! Makes a lot of sense doesn't it? Leave it to our Liberal Governor to propose this legislation just to increase revenue. Do you think it's really worth it Gov. Malloy? I think you should weigh the risks involved, before promoting such legislation.

The only ones to benefit if this bill passes are the alcoholics who are too drunk to stock up on liquor within the 6 days and need their "fix" on Sunday. Now we will have drunks driving and killing innocent people seven days a week - what's wrong with this picture ? What the heck is wrong with those legislators ??

It would end the small stores that sell beer on Sunday from getting the extra revenue. It happens. How about making beer sales legal. Then the liquor stores wouldn't haveto be open and the chain stores and mom and pop convenience stores with a liquor lisence could sell beer

so many of the store owner have been crying a lake of tears. TO BAD! Your time is up! Now we will have it OUR way!
