increase the penalties? why not increase the enforcement of the penalties we have now? how many people skate away from serious offenses on some stupid little technicality or because lawmakers are afraid some group or another will flip out over a guilty verdict even if it warranted? keep kaking new laws you wont enforce, dont worry, we arent laughing at you and pointing behind your backs or anything!

I think this is law will do nothing to stop the use of stun guns. I think this is a bad idea. Inforce the laws on the books now!

What good is increasing penalties for felony arrests, when 70% of the arrests are nolled by the prosecutors or judges!! ENFORCE THE EXISTING LAWS!!! DOES ANY ONE BELIEVE THE REPEAT OFFENDERS CARE WHAT THE LAW STIPULATES??? I THINK NOT!
hacksaw007
Do you actually think the criminals care about increased penalties for breaking the law? How many are REPEAT OFFENDERS? How long are their rap sheets? That says it all! What about strengthening the enforcement of the existing laws? That would do it!

They can't keep those who have murdered in prison for long so why bother increasing penalties for anything else. Early release seems to be the rule in this state so why bother.

I'd only be for it IF this makes it less likely that a criminal could plea down their charges... amazing how fast a serious charge gets knocked down to a slap on the wrist in the courts.

Why aren't we imposing the existing legislation on illegal use of a firearm? What good will increasing the penalties on illegal firearm usage really do if the existing laws haven't been given a chance to work?
