Just another way to dig into our pockets
The real issue is money. I get it, you don't understand. Money is the problem because we have had too many years of spending out of control on wars, weapons, bailouts, etc. All the money going out, none coming in. So the first thing a newly elected governor does is cut the police department and lay off state troopers. The next thing done is to give the upper echelon troopers a big fat raise. Now the money is spent. It is all about the budget. Well if they tax ammunition at 50%tax just think how much money they can bring in? While we are at it, lets add fees on for background checks, and mental health diagnosis, and wait, why don't we stop law abiding people from buying the most popular weapons on the market, as well as all of the additional items that go with it? Then, when it fails to curb gun violence, we will have nothing more left to do than to confiscate all the guns and turn those that do not turn them in into criminals. Then we can remain at the status quo, still not enough money in the budget for enough police to take the criminals off the streets! That's the ticket! Get real people! The gun is not the issue. AR-15 style weapons do not stand out in any way other than they are made to look like a military weapon. They are too hard to conceal, no way you are going to walk around town carrying one without all available police being called in to get you off the streets. That stupid gun is not the issue. The real issue is that with the thousands of laws related to firearms on the books in this country, they sickos and the criminals still manage to get what they need to commit their crimes, be it gangland shootings, drug related shootings, bank and convenience store robberies, jewelry store heists. What needs to happen it the government of Connecticut, and the government of the country need to put the funding in for enough police officers to do the job they are paid for. Look at the Police officer in California that was suspected of shooting people. it took hundreds of men, 10 days or more and hundreds of thousands of dollars to find just one man and bring him to justice? how efficient is that? How do we expect several hundred thousand police officers to control crime in this entire country of 350,000,000 people? Get real for once in your life. It will never happen. Yet you think taking guns and ammunition away from people that pay more attention to the laws of this state and country are going to stop violence? It is not going to happen! If you tried to take away all the weapons in the country, the people that are commiting these crimes will still find a way to do what they do, without question they will find a way.
Taxing does absolutely nothing to help the situation. Three months of fueling the fire over the gun issue does nothing to stop the killings either. What they should stop is trying to legislate something they can't control and won't admit.
We need to elect people who can seriously look at a problem. This bill does,t qualify
This is just another measure to try and exploit law abiding citizens.
