HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — The Connecticut Council of Small Towns will soon be hosting its annual legislative conference, known as 'Connecticut's Town Meeting," to discuss state issues.
The conference, to be held Wednesday, will feature Gov. Dannel P. Malloy as a keynote speaker. Suburban and rural town leaders will discuss and vote on issues they believe should be taken up by the state legislature.
The conference will be highlighted by discussions by Senate President Pro Tempore Donald Williams, D-Brooklyn, and House Speaker Christopher Donovan, D-Meriden. Focusing on the governor's recent education reforms, the event will also host a panel discussion on the future of K-12 education and its funding.
The convention will also feature a presentation on storm preparedness by Joseph McGee, chairman of Malloy's two-storm panel.
