Murphy, McMahon to meet in 2nd Conn. Senate debate

STORRS, Conn. (AP/WTNH) — Republican Linda McMahon and Democratic U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy are facing off in their second debate in Connecticut's close race for an open U.S. Senate seat.

Thursday's hour-long event will be held at the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, beginning at 7 p.m. It will air live on FOX CT, as well as some radio stations.

It is sponsored by the Hartford Courant, FOX CT and the Connecticut Daily Newspaper Association.

The two candidates sparred at a debate Sunday, accusing one another of lying about their records. They're vying for the seat held by the retiring Sen. Joe Lieberman.

Murphy and McMahon are scheduled to participate in two more debates planned for Oct. 15 in New London and Oct. 18 in Hartford.

The Oct. 15 debate is sponsored by WTNH News 8 and The Day of New London. Use this form to submit a question you'd like to ask the candidate, and it may be used in the debate.
