EAST LYME, Conn. (AP) — Republican congressional candidate Paul Formica is kicking off a tour of businesses throughout Connecticut's 2nd Congressional District.
The East Lyme first selectman and restaurateur has scheduled a news conference at his establishment, Flanders Fish Market and Restaurant in East Lyme, on Friday afternoon to discuss his plan to restore the state's economy.
Formica is challenging incumbent Democratic U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney.
As a candidate with business experience, Formica maintains that he knows "what it takes to create jobs and how Main Street works." He said he also understands the relationship that government should have with small business in order to expand the economy and help people obtain jobs.
Formica said he also plans to announce a national endorsement on Friday.
