Esty continues Conn. 5th District business tour

TORRINGTON, Conn. (AP) — U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty is continuing her tour of small businesses and manufacturers in Connecticut's 5th Congressional District.

The Democrat was scheduled to make stops at Altek Electronics Inc. in Torrington on Monday and at PeterPaul Electronics Inc. in New Britain on Tuesday.

Altek manufactures printed circuit board assemblies and other electronics used in mammography devices, elevators and fuel cell controls and gas detection systems. PeterPaul manufactures electromechanically operated valves used in various industries.

Esty said she plans to tour the operations and seek input from managers and employees on ways to boost manufacturing in Connecticut.

Esty began her series of tours last month, when she visited Jonal Laboratories in Meriden and Ward Leonard Electric Co. Inc. in Thomaston.
