Malloy in Beverly Hills for meeting

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is on a two-day trip to Beverly Hills to attend the Democratic Governors Association's holiday party and annual meeting.

Malloy Press Secretary Juliet Manalan says the governor will be in California Monday and Tuesday and will return Tuesday evening. She says the governors association is paying for the trip.

Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman remains in the state.

The conference's opening reception is set for 7:30 p.m. Monday at The Via at Two Rodeo, which is a "cobblestone luxury shopping street" according to the venue's website. The event continues Tuesday at The Beverly Wilshire hotel with policy discussions about energy independence, state debt problems and technology's role in government.

The conference concludes with a holiday party early Tuesday evening at The Studios at Paramount.

This AH is bad for the state and esp. bad for anything with the state's economy. This idiot thinks he's a little Barry, insisting you write the check, he'll eat. This idiot is a free-loader.

Once again, its everyone else BUT Governor Malloy who is sharing the sacrifice. Shame on you governor, here was a chance to show you are sacrificing too and you blew it. I agree with Hosed, why can't these meetings be done by teleconferencing? And where does the Governors association get its moneys from anyway? Does it just magically appear or does it come from membership dues paid by guess who, the taxpayers of the member states?

Wouldnt teleconferencing be a better alternative ??? of course, they would miss out on the "cobblestone luxury shopping street" ....................

Other then drinking and having a good time, what is the purpose the the "National Governors Association"? Every governor EXCEPT Weicker has belonged to it and it seems NOTHING comes from it.
